VersatileI used to cover adjacent areas when MIG welding. But I found a great use for this when welding under the car today. I don't have a lift and have to crawl under the car with jackstands. You can cover yourself with this blanket and save yourself a lot of misery when welding under the car.
A little expensive, but it's become a must-have item.
Will this protect a concrete floor from plasma cutting spatter when you are cutting from a plasma cutting stand (maybe 30” above the floor)?

Since it is designed for hot welding sparks, I see no reason it couldn't be used for this purpose.

My father is looking for something to protect his vinyl porchrail from melting when he is grilling. He is limited on deck space. The grill is located about 2' from the rail. Does this blanket block heat, or just protect from metal splatters?
Asked by: Greg the Chevy man
It is not specifically designed to protect against radiant heat, mainly splatters from welding.
