Welding Shields & Blankets
Welding shields, also known as welding screens or curtains, create a barrier between the welding area and surrounding workspace to protect nearby workers, equipment, and materials from sparks, UV radiation, and welding arc glare. Typically made from flame-resistant materials such as PVC-coated polyester or fiberglass, they offer sufficient opacity to block UV radiation and welding arc glare. Many welding shields offered by Eastwood are portable and mounted on wheeled frames for easy relocation within the workspace, or they may be fixed in place for permanent installation in welding booths or work areas.
Welding blankets provide more localized heat-resistant protection for nearby surfaces, equipment, and materials during welding operations. Welding blankets are made from heat-resistant materials such as fiberglass, silica, or ceramic fiber, with high-temperature ratings to withstand exposure to sparks, molten metal, and radiant heat. They’re offered in various sizes and configurations to accommodate different welding applications and workspace layouts and can be draped over surfaces, hung vertically as curtains, or wrapped around equipment to provide effective protection.
