Metal BumpingI just got this book. As I am teaching myself to do body work on a 1952 L110 international half ton truck. It is an excellent book. Describes the Fairmount method of dent repair. First book I have read that explains what you need to know , how to do the repair and why you have to do it this way. Highly recommend

Metal bumping forth editionI was referred by a employee from Eastwood's, one of the finest retail stores that specializes in selling body repair tools and auto painting supplies. To check out the Metal Bumping book by Martin Key. I have never had the opportunity to do any body repair, nor have I ever painted a car before. By reading my new copy of "Metal Bumping" it has given me the confidence to restore my 1966 Chevelle myself. By learning the Fairmont method. This book was written many years ago, then revised 3 times over the years. it is an updated instructional guide to help someone who's interested in learning " How To" do it yourself and do it as well as a pro. These were the books people have used for decades. It is out of date these days due to the advancements through the years since these have been revised, newer tools, advanced technologies of the "bodyworks world". But it was the technology that people like Darrel Starboard to Chip Foose grew up with, and what great designs and fabulous cars they have produced. ( I'm not saying that Darrel or Chip has ever read this book, but they learned it somewhere) the old school ways are taught here. It's books like these are the very one's that helped to customize the fabulous fifties cars then later to help customize the muscle cars of the 50 til the end of the muscle car ERA.
