Polycarbonate is a rigid plastic and is commonly used on bumpers on older model Ford Taurus, Mercury Sable, and Ford Aerostar mini-vans. It is also used on some older Hyundai, older Mercedes bumpers, John Deere tractor hoods and panels, and headlight lenses. Saturn door panels may also be welded with polycarbonate since they are made from Pulse, which is a polycarbonate blend. Although, if you have a Pulse plastic part, we have a Pulse (PC+ABS) welding rod available. The generic name is polycarbonate but the some "brand names" for polycarbonate are Xenoy and Lexan. In addition to the PC symbol, you may also find the "SLX" symbol on the part. SLX plastic is a Polycarbonate copolymer that has much better UV resistance, but is easily welded with our polycarbonate plastic welding rod. If a part has the symbols "PC+PBT", this welding rod will work on it, too. No pigment has been added to this rod, so the rods are clear. This package contains 30 ft. (9.1 m) of welding rod. Each welding rod is 1 ft. (30 cm) long and is 1/8th inch (3 mm) in diameter.
